The Way Mainstream Comics Handles The Issue With Comicsgate Does Not Cut It

Eventually I managed to figure out how to deal with the problem that is #comicsgate on my own time. By Mainstream Comics were absolutely no hope on how to solve the problem. This may seem hard to believe, but not every one of us harassed by Comicsgate is necessarily wanting to get a sweetheart deal at #marvel or #dc. Some of us just want to be left alone to mind our own business so we can actually focus on completing the art for one of our own graphic novels.

As it is, I can’t count how many time I was also blocked by people in Mainstream comics, simply for being unaware that I had a crap load of Comicsgate people following me on my profile. The problem clearly is not my own, as I have always been a critic of comicsgate. And I certainly don’t need Zack and Gaiman’s purity spirals just to see how toxic of a group Comicsgate is.

Especially considering I am actually a trans women, a group that is consistently marginalized by Comicsgate. They don’t need to going around victims of comics gate, while pretending to be speaking on behalf of people who are victimized by Comicsgate. I eventually had to chain block a bunch of people on my Twitter just to get my Twitter feed back to a basic form of sanity at the moment.

We need a better way to deal with the problem that is Comicsgate, but blocking victims of Comicsgate is not one of these.

Highly tempted to publish my graphic novel in a Novel type binding format, just so I don’t have to associate with this god damn juvenile behavior mainstream comics people have gotten themselves into.
